Amid mounting tensions in the Middle East, the U.S. State Department has ordered government employees in Israel to restrict travel within the country, while authorizing the evacuation of U.S. military family members across the region. The move comes as fears grow over a potential Israeli strike on Iran.

In an alert issued Thursday, the U.S. Embassy in Israel restricted government personnel and their families to travel only within Tel Aviv (including Herzliya, Netanya, and Even Yehuda), Jerusalem, and Be’er Sheva. Travel outside these areas is suspended until further notice. Americans were also urged to remain alert, know the location of the nearest shelter, and be prepared for sudden security incidents — including rocket or drone attacks — as the security environment remains unpredictable.
Asked about the precautions, President Trump stated, “The region could be a dangerous place, and we’ll see what happens,” reiterating that the U.S. will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons — a claim Tehran continues to deny.

Despite rising tensions and a potential military strike from Israel, Iran reacted defiantly to a critical resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors, which found Tehran non-compliant with its nuclear obligations for the first time in two decades. In response, Iran announced it would significantly expand its uranium enrichment program, establish a new secure facility, and replace older centrifuges with advanced models at its Fordo site — a heavily fortified underground plant previously identified by experts as a likely hub for nuclear weapons development.
Nineteen countries supported the IAEA resolution, while Russia, China, and Burkina Faso opposed it. Tehran’s Atomic Energy Organization emphasized its decision was a direct response to what it called a politically motivated resolution. The statement underlined that Iran would take “specific and effective” countermeasures, including launching a third secure enrichment site and ramping up production of enriched materials.
As Middle East Iran tensions escalate, the international community is closely watching developments. Meanwhile, a fresh round of U.S.-Iran nuclear talks is scheduled for Sunday in Oman — casting a shadow of uncertainty over regional stability and dominating Israel news headlines.
