Chipotle Celebrates Friday the 13th with Flash Tattoos and BOGO Deal Inspired by Fan Memes

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) is turning up the ink for Friday the 13th with a limited-edition release of 13 temporary flash tattoos inspired by the brand’s most iconic elements—and the internet-famous meme “tatted like a Chipotle bag.” On Friday, June 13, from 3:00–4:00 p.m. local time, fans can score a BUY-ONE-GET-ONE (BOGO) entrée in-store simply by showing off any tattoo—real, temporary, or drawn on.

In celebration of tattoo culture’s biggest day of the year, 13 select Chipotle locations will give away exclusive tattoo sheets featuring Chipotle-inspired art: real ingredients, the black fork, the classic water cup, and the fan-favorite “Chipotle is my life” slogan. These flash sheets will be available with in-restaurant entrée purchases during the 3:00–4:00 p.m. window while supplies last.

The phrase “tatted like a Chipotle bag” took off after a viral comparison between a halftime performer’s tattoos and Chipotle’s signature brown bag art during the 2019 Big Game. Since then, the meme has grown into a symbol of bold fandom, inspiring both memes and real-life tattoos.
