Scarlett Johansson Opens Up About Her Viral Kisses with Co-Star Jonathan Bailey: “We’re Just Friendly People”
Scarlett Johansson isn’t shy about showing affection—especially when it comes to her Jurassic World Rebirth co-star Jonathan Bailey.
“He’s a lovable guy, what can I say?” Johansson, 40, said during a Today show interview on Wednesday, June 25, referring to their now-viral kisses on the red carpet. The playful smooches first took place at the film’s London premiere on June 17, and again in New York on June 23—where Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost, was also in attendance.

When host Craig Melvin pointed out that Bailey is “attractive,” Johansson laughed and replied, “Yeah, you said it!” As for the PDA? “We’re just friendly people,” she shrugged. “I’ve got a lot of love to give.”
Bailey, 37, echoed those sentiments in a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “I believe in being able to show love in all different ways. And if you can’t kiss your friends… life’s too short not to.”
While promoting Jurassic World Rebirth, directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, Johansson also reflected on the grueling but bonding experience of shooting outdoors. “Very warm, long days,” she recalled, sharing that it brought her closer to her co-stars Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and others. Asked if she ever wished for a more traditional film set, she joked, “Yes, all of the days.”
In a lighthearted moment, Johansson introduced Melvin to Dolores, an animatronic baby dinosaur from the movie, asking, “Do you want to pet her?” A reluctant Melvin obliged, even giving the dino a quick kiss.
Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters on July 2. Johansson can also be seen in The Phoenician Scheme, currently playing in theaters. She recently premiered her feature directorial debut, Eleanor the Great, at the Cannes Film Festival.
