Trey Parker and Matt Stone Rip Into Paramount-Skydance Deal: “It’s a S—show”

The creators of South Park are blasting the upcoming Paramount-Skydance merger, blaming the corporate shake-up for delaying the premiere of their long-running animated series.

“This merger is a s‑‑‑show and it’s f‑‑‑ing up South Park,” read a fiery statement posted Wednesday on the show’s official social media account, attributed to creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. “We are at the studio working on new episodes and we hope the fans get to see them somehow.”

The duo is reportedly locked in an ongoing dispute over the show’s streaming rights, further complicating matters as the 27th season’s premiere has been pushed back from July 9 to July 23.

Known for their no-holds-barred satire and sharp political commentary, Parker and Stone didn’t hold back in criticizing Paramount, which owns Comedy Central and is currently finalizing a $28 billion merger with Skydance.

Adding to the media giant’s turbulent week, Paramount also agreed to pay $16 million to settle a lawsuit filed by former President Donald Trump. The suit stemmed from a “60 Minutes” interview with then–Vice President Kamala Harris that aired last year on CBS News.
