Mel B Marries Longtime Partner Rory McPhee in London Fairytale Wedding

Mel B Marries Rory McPhee in Iconic St. Paul’s Cathedral Ceremony

Melanie “Mel B” Brown, best known as Scary Spice from the iconic girl group Spice Girls, is officially married! The 50-year-old singer tied the knot with hairstylist Rory McPhee in a romantic ceremony on Saturday, July 5, at the historic Crypt of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.

Mel B and McPhee began dating in 2018 and got engaged in 2022 during a private getaway in Berkshire after three years together.

For the special day, Mel B wore a stunning custom ivory gown designed by Josephine Scott, later changing into a second look by Justin Alexander. Caroline Black of Evelie Bridal Boutique, who helped style the bride, described Mel as “a dream to work with” and praised her signature sense of style.

The wedding ceremony was followed by a glamorous reception at the Shangri-La Hotel inside The Shard — the tallest building in the U.K. The celebration was star-studded, with guests including fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), as well as Cara Delevingne, Katherine Ryan, and Daisy Lowe.

Adding a personal touch, Mel B’s three daughters played a special role as her bridesmaids. Her eldest, Phoenix, 26, is from her marriage to Jimmy Gulzar; Angel Iris, 18, is her daughter with Eddie Murphy; and Madison, 13, is from her previous marriage to Stephen Belafonte.

Mel B’s wedding at St. Paul’s Cathedral — the same venue where Princess Diana and then-Prince Charles married in 1981 — was made possible after she was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2022 by Prince William. She received the honor for her advocacy work raising awareness about domestic abuse.

Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May, Mel B reflected on the significance of the venue, saying, “It’s a big deal because not many people are allowed to get married there. You have to be kind of special.”

Mel B’s Wedding Follows Wild Bachelorette Bash and Romantic Proposal

Just weeks before her elegant wedding, Mel B celebrated in true Scary Spice fashion — with a seaside bachelorette party featuring 36 of her closest friends. The singer rocked a leopard-print bikini, matching the vibrant theme worn by all her guests.

In a playful Instagram video, Mel B is seen racing toward the group along a dock, tearing off a long white lace cover-up before joining them in a choreographed dance to Beyoncé’s “End of Time.” The energy was high, the vibes were bold, and the celebration was pure Mel B.

The road to the altar began in 2022 when her longtime friend-turned-boyfriend, hairstylist Rory McPhee, proposed during a romantic getaway in Berkshire. The couple had been dating for three years and first grew close while working together on The Masked Singer.

“He said, ‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,’” Mel B recalled during an appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox. The proposal was straight out of a romance film — complete with rose petals, a roaring fireplace, and a luxurious stay at the historic Cliveden House. “It was very romantic. I love flowers,” she added.

After two previous marriages, Mel B had once vowed she’d never walk down the aisle again. But McPhee changed her mind — and her heart.

“I was like, ‘I’m never going to get married again. Never, never, never… I want to raise my kids and focus on work,’” she told PEOPLE in March 2024. “And then… never can say never, can you?”

She continued, “I believe in love, and clearly the other two marriages turned out not to be love — from their angle. So I feel like I’ve really missed out. Now I’ve got this chance to be properly in love with a really good guy, who loves me for me, and who’s known me before I was even a Spice Girl. Why wouldn’t I say yes.
