Lando Norris claimed his long-awaited and emotional first British Grand Prix victory at Silverstone in a race defined by changing weather, chaotic incidents, and dramatic penalties. The McLaren driver inherited the lead after teammate Oscar Piastri was handed a 10-second time penalty for a safety car infringement — a blow to the Australian, who had dominated large portions of the race.
Piastri had surged into the lead on Lap 9, overtaking Max Verstappen in wet conditions after a strategic tire gamble paid off. Forced to serve it during a late pit stop, his lead vanished.
