Free agent point guard Chris Paul has signed with the LA Clippers, marking a return for his anticipated final, 21st NBA season, according to CAA agents Steven Heumann, Ty Sullivan, and Jessica Holtz via ESPN.
At 40, the 12-time All-Star reportedly received interest from multiple teams but ultimately chose the contending Clippers, citing their shared history in Los Angeles.
Paul joins a revamped Clippers lineup that now features Bradley Beal, John Collins, and Brook Lopez, as the franchise continues building both for immediate contention and future flexibility, with plans to pursue more stars over the next two offseasons.
This reunion brings Paul back to the Clippers, where he spent six seasons (2011-2017), earned five All-Star selections, and secured five All-NBA team honors — the most in Clippers history. His 4,023 assists with the team also remain a franchise record.
Last season, Paul played all 82 games for the San Antonio Spurs, becoming the first player in league history to appear in every game during his 20th season or later.
Drafted fourth overall by the New Orleans Hornets in 2005 and named NBA Rookie of the Year, Paul currently ranks second all-time in both career assists (12,499) and steals (2,717).
