Hideo Kojima doesn’t do anything by halves. After debuting a 10-minute trailer packed with early details, the legendary creator took the stage for an in-depth 80-minute panel with Geoff Keighley on the final day of Summer Games Fest 2025 to discuss Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
The panel featured a variety of new footage from the highly anticipated sequel, including the game’s opening five minutes—which drew loud cheers as fans spotted familiar names in the credits. Kojima also debuted the English-language version of a scene previously shown at Tokyo Game Show, spotlighting standout performances from Elle Fanning as Tomorrow and Shioli Kutsuna as Rainy.
Viewers got a glimpse of Tomorrow in action, diving into tar to take down robotic enemies in a gritty, cinematic sequence. A live gameplay demo followed, featuring Sam wielding a blood boomerang and tar cannon in combat. The action intensified with a tense battle against a character named Neil, showcasing stealth mechanics and expanded weaponry.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches exclusively on PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025.
