Kelsey Bateman, known for her appearance on Bret Michaels’ reality show Rock of Love in 2009, has reportedly passed away at the age of 39.
TMZ first reported the news, citing a family source who said, “Kelsey passed away unexpectedly recently.” Details about the exact date and cause of her death have not been made public.
Bateman appeared on Season 3 of the VH1 dating series, Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels, where she and other contestants lived on tour buses and traveled with the Poison frontman, competing for his attention. She made it to the Top 10 before being eliminated in the seventh episode. Michaels cited her age and inability to handle the pressures of the show as reasons for her departure. One memorable moment saw Bateman leave in the middle of a concert after a drunken meltdown, later reflecting in a confessional, “I ended up laying on a speed bump bawling my eyes out, but you know what? I’m here and I’m ready for whatever Bret has to say to me.”
Born and raised near Salt Lake City, Utah, Bateman was just 21 when she joined the show. After her reality TV experience, she chose a quieter life, moving to Draper, Utah, away from the spotlight. Reflecting on her time on the show, she said, “I’m going to go home and I’m going to be single. I’m not going to think about guys for a while, but the next guy I find definitely won’t be 44 and probably not a rock star.”
Outside of television, Bateman had a successful career in business. According to her LinkedIn profile, where she went by Kelsey Passey, she worked as a senior sales lead at Vox Nutrition Inc. starting in 2016, overseeing account management and leading a team of junior sales representatives. Prior to that, she was an executive administrator at C7 Data Centers.
