In a new trailer released today, Nintendo revealed Splatoon Raiders, the first-ever Splatoon spinoff game, coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch 2. Players take on the role of a mechanic and embark on an exciting adventure through the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside the vibrant Deep Cut trio.

Alongside this announcement, a free update for Splatoon 3 will launch on June 12 for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players. This update introduces the Splatlands collection, featuring 30 brand-new weapon kits from the Barazushi and Emberz brands. These weapons bring fresh designs inspired by classic favorites, complete with unique sub and special abilities. Additionally, the beloved stage Urchin Underpass from the original Splatoon on Wii U will return to the stage rotation.
The update also raises all weapon Freshness caps and adds new in-game Badges for players to earn. A new stat called Series Weapon Power will be introduced to Anarchy Battle (Series), measuring player effectiveness with each weapon based on win/loss ratios. This system will match players with opponents of similar skill, encouraging experimentation with new weapons without penalty and helping players master their favorites.
Moreover, Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch 2 will benefit from enhanced visuals and smoother gameplay in locations like Splatsville and the Grand Festival Grounds. Today’s trailer confirmed cross-play between Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players, ensuring that fans of Splatoon and Splatoon 3 can continue to compete and cooperate seamlessly.
