NYC Artist with Ties to Major Brands Arrested After Drunken Outburst on Southwest Airlines Flight
A New York City-based artist with an impressive portfolio that includes work for brands like Maybelline, Adidas, Steve Madden, and MAC was arrested following a shocking mid-flight meltdown aboard a Southwest Airlines plane at LaGuardia Airport early Tuesday morning.
Leanna Perry, 32, an illustrator and designer, was reportedly intoxicated when she was caught on video launching into a violent tirade — verbally abusing fellow passengers, grabbing a woman’s hair, and even spitting in her face. The disturbing incident occurred before the plane took off and quickly escalated, leaving passengers and crew stunned.

Eyewitnesses described Perry as “possessed” as she shouted profanities, refused to release the woman’s hair, and physically resisted airline staff. Despite repeated pleas from a Southwest employee to let go, Perry clung on until crew members forcibly restrained her with zip ties.
The confrontation, captured in multiple videos circulating online, showed Perry yelling insults like “fat ass bitch” and “ugly-ass bitch” at the woman she targeted. In another shocking moment, she turned to a nearby male passenger assisting staff and slurred, “I’m sorry black guy! My boyfriend’s black, so shut the f–k up,” before spitting directly at the woman she had assaulted.
Even after being restrained, Perry continued to lash out, kicking another passenger, yelling profanities, and falling dramatically to the floor while screaming that she “can’t breathe.”
Once removed from the aircraft, the situation continued to spiral. According to the criminal complaint, Perry spit on a police officer and kicked him in the leg while officers attempted to place her in a wheelchair for transport.
Perry’s professional background, listed on her website and social media, showcases collaborations with renowned fashion brands such as Betsey Johnson, Nicole Miller, Shein, and Hot Topic, alongside her recent work as a lead designer for Maybelline.
The shocking contrast between her career accomplishments and the violent behavior displayed has left many followers and industry insiders stunned.
