Trump Organization Launches “Trump Mobile” with $499 Smartphone and New Wireless Plan
Key Highlights:
- Trump Mobile introduces a $47.45/month unlimited plan and a $499 smartphone called the “T1”
- The initiative is a licensing venture, not directly managed by The Trump Organization
- Ethics concerns raised as Trump earns millions through branded deals

The Trump Organization has announced the launch of a new wireless service, Trump Mobile, along with a branded smartphone priced at $499. The rollout is set for September and marks the latest example of Donald Trump leveraging his political identity to expand his business footprint.
The mobile plan, called “The 47 Plan,” offers unlimited talk, text, and data, plus extras like roadside assistance and a “Telehealth and Pharmacy Benefit.” The monthly price of $47.45 nods to Trump’s political career — he was the 45th U.S. president and now serves as the 47th.
Trump Mobile’s device, the T1 smartphone, is designed with a gold-toned casing and etched with an American flag. Promotional images show the home screen displaying Trump’s iconic slogan: “Make America Great Again.” The phone runs Android 15, has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, and a 50MP main and 16MP front camera.

Despite the bold branding, Trump Mobile is not owned or operated directly by the Trump Organization. According to a disclaimer on the official website, the service is offered through a licensing agreement, a common practice across Trump-branded ventures such as watches, sneakers, and Bibles.
The initiative comes amid growing ethics scrutiny, with critics arguing that the president may be exploiting his office for commercial gain. Nonetheless, the model has proven financially successful. Trump recently disclosed earning over $8 million in 2024 from various licensing arrangements.
From a pricing standpoint, The 47 Plan is significantly higher than similar offerings from mainstream carriers. For comparison:
- Visible by Verizon offers a similar unlimited plan for $25/month
- Mint Mobile provides a 12-month unlimited plan for $30/month
However, Trump Mobile asserts it provides “the same coverage as the 3 nationwide carriers” and promises U.S.-based customer support. When contacted, a customer service representative declined to confirm the location of the support center, citing security reasons.
Major wireless providers Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the Trump Mobile launch.
